Starting in 2008 the Bullbots decided on a couple of objectives for the year.

  1. Promote FIRST robotics throughout the community.  FIRST stands for "For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology".  The Bullbots believe in the theory and concepts that FIRST promotes. By presenting challenges to student in a fun game like environment FIRST is teaching many skills to student from age 6 through high school.  Student learn team work, problem solving, mechanical, programming, all aspects of engineering and do this while having fun.
  2. Find a fundraiser so the Bullbots can compete each year with their robot.  Select "BULLBOTS Home" on the menu to learn more about the bullbots and what they do other than this awesome camp.

The students of the Bullbots Robotic club decided to host a LEGO® Robotics Camp.  This teaches kids in the community about robotics and the funds raised help the Bullbots compete in their competitions. With the help from some adult mentors the students were able to run an excellent camp during the 2008 summer. The camp uses a curriculum developed by Carnegie Mellon. The bullbots made some modifications so the curriculum could be used with the LEGO®  MINDSTORM® NXT system. The final product meets the objectives outlined above.  We now have a winning combination for you and the Bullbot team. Who better to run a robotics camp then a competitive robotics team? We say no one!
